Our Christmas Tree and a Stormy Sunday

Our trip to the Christmas tree farm was not meant to be. There was a warning of a severe winter storm so we opted to stay closer to home. The result was a stop at a store in town and what has ended up be an enormous tree! We didn't realize quite how big it was and then when it defrosted it got even bigger! Now half our living room is filled with the tree! My sister is calling us the Griswolds now! ~smile~

The only trouble is that since we have the kitten we don't want to put our breakable ornaments on it , many of them are very old and it would be so sad if they were to be broken. So, our tree looks quite sparsely decorated as we don't have very many unbreakable ornaments, but it is pretty all lit up!

The storm has shut down our little town. For the first time I can remember there was no church service this morning and the grocery store is closed. There was about a foot of snow freshly fallen by this morning and it has been falling steadily ever since. It is a nice day to stay in, curl up in my favorite chair and work on some crocheting. Perhaps I will take this opportunity to get my Christmas gifts all wrapped and ready and bake a little something as well.
Here are some before and after pictures of our tree.

I hope you are warm and cozy and enjoying your Sunday as well.

Blessings,

Liisa

Liisa,

What a beautiful tree! We have to have an artificial one, but there's nothing like the real thing!
