Getting Ready For a Luau

This week I have been busy getting ready for a Luau lunch at church on Sunday. Monday I made 10 lbs. of ground beef into meatballs, cooked and froze them. Saturday they will come out, defrost and be added to the sauce another lady is making to create Hawaiian meatballs. Yesterday I made dozens of paper flowers in pink, green and blue - Timothy (our cat) was a big help ~smile~

For our decorations we are going with blue and lime green table cloths and napkins, coconuts, pineapples, paper flowers, leis in a wooden bowl on a stand trimmed in a grass skirt beside the entrance with a large tiki torch. The cups and plates are a tropical theme.

For food we are having Hawaiian meatballs,Rice, Fruit Kabobs, Blue Jello with gummy sharks and fish in it, chips with big goldfish crackers mixed in, Blue and Green Koolaid with a slice of orange on the cup, then the usual picnic lunch foods, hot dogs, beans, salads etc. All the salads will be served in pails with shovels for the spoons.

This is all to tie in with the VBS theme and to wrap up a great week with the children. All their families are invited so hopefully there will be a great turn out!

Blessings,
Liisa
